Along the way, you’ll likely see a fair amount of people fishing, hiking, and biking, but you can easily find some quieter moments during your trek.

While the Hyde Hollow Trail is a bit longer than the Black Bass Lake, it is still generally considered an easier trail to hike.
This trail takes you along some of the wooded areas of Lake Leatherwood Park, making it a popular destination for bird watching. It’s not uncommon to see other wildlife along the way, such as deer and turkeys. You’ll likely see some other hikers along the trail, but there should be plenty of solitude found here.
The best times to visit this trail are from Spring to Fall. There are multiple streams to cross during your hike, so bring appropriate footwear.
If you are looking for a scenic hike that is filled with gorgeous views and is not too difficult, you should consider a trek on the Lake Leatherwood Loop.
The loop takes you along the western side of Lake Leatherwood, allowing you to take in the breathtaking scenery. There is an abundance of wildlife, making it likely that you’ll be able to spot some of the animals that call this area home.
One of the biggest attractions of this trail is the hand-hewn, handset bridge that runs across a portion of the lake, where you’ll also find some of the best views of the lake. The bridge is one of the reasons why this trail is so popular, so expect to see other travelers along the way.
Some hikers have reported that this hike can sometimes be a little difficult, mainly due to the fact that a large portion of the loop is dirt, meaning there can be muddy patches. Watch the weather and plan accordingly.
